Curried Goat
Goat! Yes, that is goat. I'd never eaten goat until I made this delicious dish. I make my own curry powder so I'm in charge if all the flavors and the heat level, have you ever had screaming hot curry? Yeah, me too.
I'd heard that goat is a little tough and gamey however 45 minutes in the pressure cooker with a natural cool down and the meat was tender and I didn't find it gamey at all. I used goat chunks with bones so we got the meat and bone goodness.
Serve over riced cauliflower, greens, or your favorite faux flat bread.

Ingredients
- 1lb goat meat - cubed on bones
- 1T filtered coconut oil
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled and cut in half
- 7 whole allspice berries
- 4 whole cardamom pods
- 6 whole cloves
- ¼ cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
- 2 tsp whole cumin
- ¼ tsp yellow mustard seed
- 1 tsp black peppercorns
- 2T sea salt
- ¼ tsp chili flakes
- 2T tumeric
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 ½ C coconut cream
Instructions
- Grind all the spices in a spice grinder and set aside. Chop onion and garlic and set aside. Heat coconut oil in the pressure cooker, add meat and brown. After meat is brown add ground spices, onion, garlic, and coconut cream and mix well. Set pressure cooker to low pressure for 45 minutes and allow the cooker to depressurize naturally.
